(no. 5) Sometimes on a Sunday…

…it’s someone’s birthday and while you can’t celebrate with them in person you spend the whole morning flashing back to all the silly adventures you’ve shared together.

Remember when we went to NYC with Valaleille and Lois and had breakfast at Dizzy’s, then ate sushi at Dean & Deluca, hot dogs at Katz’s, tres leches at Doughnut Plant all in quick succession before it quite sank in that we had a dinner reservation looming at Bistro Azul? Come on everybody! A little skirt steak and red wine’s not gonna kill ya!

LRW back in the day at Katz's Deli... just in case you're feeling peckish, their order hotline is 1 800 4 HOT DOG

And then there was that time we went to Dustydorf in ze Germany with Valchen to visit Chrissychen & Co…

Chrissychen und Ludmillachen mit Leonorchen in den park. Ja.
...and we saw a marzipan hamburger in the bakery downstairs from her purty flat...
...only after escaping dangerous confusion between canteloupe and kohlrabi at the famous German picnic.

Yeah. But wait, there’s more!

...sugar-highs at The Engineer courtesy of Terry's pancakes with honeycomb butter and maple syrup (and bacon and banana)...
...stand offs about who ate the last muffin on the Isle of Mull...
...tricking Terry into ordering an ice cream sandwich on brioche in Sicily...
...flinging around the Scottish Highlands with Princess Catherina...
...after a day at the beach in Sardinia, Luigi opened our eyes to the possibilities of the home rotisserie...
...the gang walking off yet another meal in the English countryside (in reality hiking off in search of more cibo)...
...and I took a spy picture of them piggy, pig, pigs that made you giggle.

DAG! I haven’t even scratched the surface. Ain’t even made my way through the end of 2009 yet. There’s still Fakesgivings 1 and 2, Argentina, Uruguay, Paris, Cornwall and I’m sure I’m missing some blissful days just rolling around Londontown on our bella biciclettes. All future fodder for posts to come. May the adventures long continue. Happy Birthday bestie of besties!
